The body's homeostasis is maintained when the heart can provide the blood flow rate necessary to meet the increased metabolic demand for oxygen and nutrients throughout the body (including the heart). Therefore, if there is a failure in the heart, this process becomes unbalanced and there could be hypoxia in the tissues and kidney problems.
