First, locate two points and locate the coordinates of the two points

Let choose (0, 9)

and (6,7)

Using the slope formula:

\text{slope}=\frac{y_{2\text{ - }}y_1}{x_2-x_1}

x₁= 0 y₁ = 9

x₂= 6 y₂=7

Substitute the values into tha formula;

\text{slope =}(7-9)/(6-0)

=(-2)/(6)
=-(1)/(3)

\text{slope}=-(1)/(3)
