the general equation of the line is

y=mx+b

where m is the slope and b the y-intercept

the slope is on statement

Y-intercept is the value of y when the line touches the y-axis or where x=0

the point (0,-8) is the y intercept ebcause the value of x is 0

then the y-intercept is -8 and b=-8

so replacing b and the slope...

y=6x-8
