Solution

Given the function below

f(x)=(2)/(5)x^2-2

The function g(x) is a vertical stretch of f(x) by a factor of 2, i.e

\begin{gathered} g(x)=2((2)/(5)x^2-2) \\ g(x)=(4)/(5)x^2-4 \end{gathered}

Hence, the equation of g(x) is

g(x)=(4)/(5)x^2-4
