SOLUTION

The area of the figure is the sum of the area of the rectangle plus the area of the triangle.

From the dimension in the image the area of the figure is:


A=12*6+(1)/(2)*10*7

This gives


\begin{gathered} A=72+35 \\ A=107 \end{gathered}

Therefore the area of the figure is 107 square inches
