The linear model is a good fit for the data because all the points of the data are close to the regression line.

Observation from the graph, shows that there is a strong association between the variables finishing time and years as the outliers are rarely visible

There is a negative correlation between the two variables, as the years increases , the finishing time drops

Hence, the linear model is a good fit for the data, it shows that the two variables are correlated negatively and there is strong negative association between the points plotted (moving from left to right).
