The surface area of a cone is given by the formula

S = l + zr2 Solve the formula for I.

we have the formula

S=l+zr^2

solve for l

That means ------> isolate the variable l

step 1

Subtract zr^2 both sides

so

S-zr^2=l

Rewrite

l=S-zr^2
