The cell's surface area is more important than its volume because it easily allows the entry of oxygen and nutrients. When the cell grows beyond its limit, its volume increase, and its surface area decreases; thus, it will be hard for the entry of oxygen and nutrients in the cell. Since the cell needs immediate nutrients and oxygen to support itself. It is also the reason why the cell is small.
