The right angled triangle shows two legs measuring 33 and 56 units respectively. The hypotenuse is calculated as follows;

\begin{gathered} 33^2+56^2=hyp^2 \\ 1089+3136=hyp^2 \\ 4225=hyp^2 \\ \sqrt[]{4225}=\sqrt[]{hyp^2} \\ 65=\text{hyp} \end{gathered}

The hypotenuse is 65.

Note that the square root sign cancels out the exponent. This means the square root of the hypotenuse squared equals hypotenuse. Both square root and raised to power of two are both cancelled.
