an architect is using the scale of 0.5 inch = 10ft if the dimensions of his room is 15 ft by 30ft find the dimensions of his blueprints

The dimensions of his blueprints is 0.75 inch * 1.5 inch

Here, using the scale given, we want to use this to calculate the dimensions of the blue print

Mathematically, what we have to do is to simply convert the feet to inches using the conversion factor given

Since 0.5 inch = 10 ft ,

x inch will be 15 ft

To get x, we have;


\begin{gathered} 0.5\text{ }*\text{ 15 = x }*\text{ 10} \\ \\ 7.5\text{ = 10x} \\ \\ x\text{ = }(7.5)/(10) \\ \\ x\text{ = 0.75 inch} \end{gathered}

for 30 ft, this is imply 2 times what we have for 15 ft

That will be 2 * 0.75 inch = 1.5 inch
