Determine if the sequence below is arithmetic or geometric and determine the common difference/ratio in simplest form.

2, 3, 4, ...

Answer: Arithmetic with common difference of 1

It's arithmetic because we add 1 to each term to get the next term (this is assuming the pattern keeps up of course).

The "add 1" is exactly the common difference. It's the gap between adjacent neighboring terms.

If the sequence decreased, then the common difference would be negative.
