An aqueous magnesium chloride solution is made by dissolving 7.12 moles of MgCI2 in sufficient water so that the final volume of the solution is 3.00 L. Calculate the molarity of the MgCI2 solution. Concentration: ___________ M

Molarity(M)=\frac{Mass\text{ solute}}{\text{Molecular mass solute x volume solution (L)}}

Something important: mass solute / molecular mass = Moles of solute

Then the formula becomes in Molarity = moles solute/volume solution (L)

\text{Molarity (}(mol)/(L))=\text{ }\frac{7.12\text{ moles}}{3.00\text{ L}}=\text{ 2.37 mol/L or M}

Concentration: 2.37 M
