Remember that

If two figures are similar, then the ratio of its corresponding sides is proportional, and this ratio is called the scale factor

And the ratio of its areas is equal to the scale factor squared

so

step 1

Find the scale factor

scale factor=12/3=4

we have that

4^2=96/A

A=96/16

A=6 cm2
