If 1/6 cup of icing covers 2/3 of a cake,

i.e 2/3 of cake is cover by = 1/6 cup of icing

then for 1 cake,

Divide 1/6 by 2/3

\begin{gathered} (1)/(6)/(2)/(3) \\ (1)/(6)/(2)/(3)=(1)/(6)*(3)/(2) \\ (1)/(6)/(2)/(3)=(1)/(2)*(1)/(2) \\ (1)/(6)/(2)/(3)=(1)/(4) \end{gathered}

Thus, 1 cake is cover by 1/4 cup of icing

Answer : 1/4 cup of icing is require for 1 cake
