start multiplying a on both sides


\begin{gathered} at=(v-u)/(a)\cdot a \\ at=v-u \end{gathered}

then, add u on both sides


\begin{gathered} at+u=v \\ \text{switch the sides } \\ v=at+u \end{gathered}
