We have to find the perimeter of the square:

Perimeter = side length + side length + side length + side length

First, we have to find the side length:

We have the area: 500 in2

Area of a square = s^2

Replacing with the value given:

500 = s^2

Solving for s (side length)

√500 = s

22.4 in =s

Replace the s value in the perimeter formula:

P = s+s+s+s = 22.4+22.4+22.4+22.4 = 89.6 in
