In order to find the exact value of this trigonometric function, we need to know the sine and cosine of some notable values, which are 30°, 45° and 60°.

Now, to calculate the tangent, we just need to divide the sine and cosine:


\tan60°=(\sin60°)/(\cos60°)=((√(3))/(2))/((1)/(2))=√(3)
