Let x be the number of days Daniel can afford to rent and let y be the number of miles he plans to drive

25x + 0.11y ≤ 170

From the question, since he plans to drive 500 miles

then y = 500

substitute y= 500 into the inequality

25x + 0.11(500) ≤ 170

25x + 55 ≤ 170

subtract 55 from both-side of the inequality

25x ≤ 170 - 55

25x ≤ 115

Divide both-side by 25

x ≤ 4.6
