The following divisions found in Algae and their characteristics are:

- Chlorophyta: They are green algaes, being their pigment the chlorophyll II. Those organisms has their cell wall formed by two layers being the outer layer made of pectosc, while the inner layer made of cellulose;

- Phaeophyta: They photosynthetic pigments include chorophyll-a, chorophyll-b, beta carotene, fucoxanthin, violxanthin, diatoxanthin and others xantophyllis, being those organisms known a brown algae since the excess of carotenoid in their tissue;

- Rhodophyta: They are the red algae, with choroplasts without external endoplasmatic reticulum and instacked thylakoids. The min pigment found in rhodophyta is phycobiliprotein (phycoerythin), they also have chlorophyll-a, beta carotene, and some xanthophylls.
