Write an inequality for the word problem and answer the question about the inequality. O e angle is 30 degrees more than another angle. The sum of the angles. Is equal to or less than 90 degrees. Could the smaller angle be 30 degrees??

Answer:

Let´s call g and s the angles, then we can set the following equality and inequality:


\begin{gathered} g=s+30, \\ g+s\le90. \end{gathered}

Substituting g=s+30 in the inequality we get:


s+30+s\le90.

Solving the above inequality for s we get:


\begin{gathered} 2s+30\le90, \\ 2s\le90-30, \\ s\le(60)/(2)=30. \end{gathered}

Therefore, the smaller angle has to be smaller or equal to 30 degrees.

The smaller angle can be 30 degrees.
