(8\cdot(1)/(10))+(4\cdot(1)/(1000))

First solve the multiplications and then add the results:

8\cdot(1)/(10)=8\cdot0.1=0.8
4\cdot(1)/(1000)=4\cdot0.001=0.004

Multiplying a value by 1/10 or 0.1 is the same as dividing it by 10. → The result will be in the tenth place after the decimal dot.

Multiplying a value by 1/1000 or 0.001 is the same as dividing it by 1000.→ The result will be in the tousands place after the decimal dot.

Now you have to add the result of both multiplications:

0.8+0.004=0.804

You have to round in to the nearest hundredth, i.e. the second decimal place.

0.804\cong0.80

The answer is 0.80
