Let:

Aj = Jan's garden

Ab = Bob's garden

where:

\begin{gathered} Aj=x^2+5x-4 \\ Ab=2x-3 \end{gathered}

The difference between the areas is:

\begin{gathered} A=Aj-Ab=(x^2+5x-4)-(2x-3)=x^2+5x-4-2x+3 \\ A=x^2+3x-1 \end{gathered}

It is:

x^2+3x-1

Larger
