the change is the dog's weight is -8 1/3 pounds in 6 weeks

that is

-8(1)/(3)=(-25)/(3)

6 weeks weight change is - 25/3

so for 1 week

((-25)/(3))/(6)=(-25)/(6*3)=(-25)/(18)

so weight change is each week is - 25 / 18

(-25)/(18)=-1(7)/(18)

so the answer is -1 7/18 pounds.
