First, subtract the whole numbers:

4-2+6/7 =

2+6/7 =

Now, multiply 2 by 7/7

2 x (7/7) +6/7 =

14/7 +6 /7 =

Add the top numbers (numerator ) and keep the bottom number (denominator)

(14+6) /7 = 20/7
