Given an equation of a line of the form

y=mx+c

where m and c are constants.

Then m is the gradient of the line

and c is the y-intercept.

In our case,

\begin{gathered} x+y=-6 \\ \Rightarrow y=-x-6 \end{gathered}

Hence m=-1

and

c=-6

The slope -1

the y-intercept = -6
