The coldest temperature ever recorded in Mathville was -16°F. This happened on January 30th, 1971. The normal low for that day is 29°F. How much colder was the record temperature than the normal low temperature?

Solution

For this case we have two tempertaures:

Recorded= -16ºF

Normal low = 29ºF

Then the answer for this case is:

29 - (-16) ºF= 29+16ºF =45ºF

Then the final answer is:

45ºF
