a) The parabola opens downward. This is evidence that coefficient a is negative.

b) The equation of the axis of symmetry is given by the axis that passes through the vertex. As the vertex is located at (-2,0) we can tell that the equation is x=-2

c) The coordinates of the vertex are (-2,0) as we discussed in part b

d) Examining the parabola on the graph, we can tell the intercepts are the y-intercept (0,-1) and the x-intercept: (-2,0)
