Let the ground temperature is given as

T_0=13^0c

For 1 km above the ground, the temperature decreases by 5.6 c. To calculate the decrease in temperature after 5 km,

\begin{gathered} For1km=5.6^0c \\ For5\text{ km=5}*5.6 \\ 5\text{ km=}28^0c \end{gathered}

So for increase in 5 km above the ground, the temperature will decrease by 28 degree c. Thus the final temperature T will be,

\begin{gathered} T=T_0-28 \\ T=13-28 \\ T=-15^0c \end{gathered}

Hence the temperature outside a plane flying at an altitude of 5 kilometers is -15 degree celsius.
