Note that :

1 hectoliters = 100 liters

1 liter = 10 deciliter

So converting from 1 deciliter to hectoliter :

\begin{gathered} 1\text{deciliter}*\frac{1\text{ liter}}{10\text{ deciliter}}*\frac{1\text{ hectoliter}}{100\text{ liters}} \\ =1\cancel{\text{deciliter}}*\frac{1\cancel{\text{liter}}}{10\cancel{\text{deciliter}}}*\frac{1\text{ hectoliter}}{100\cancel{\text{liters}}} \\ =0.001\text{ hectoliter} \end{gathered}

The answer is 0.001 hectoliter.

Pointers to remember.

Take a look at the decimal point, and move it with respect to this number line.

For example in the problem, we have 1.0 deciliter to hecto liter

Count how many points you need to reach HectoL from deciL

3 points to the left.

Now. From 1.0

Move the decimal point. 3 places to the right.

and it will be :

0.001 Hecto

same with the answer we got above.
