y = -1/2 x + 1

y = 4/5 x - 2

y = 5/2 x + 10

Step-by-step explanation:

Note: Division of same sign gives positive number. Division of opposite signs give negative number.

a) x + 2y = 2

The slope intercept form: y = mx + c

rewriting in the form above:

2y = -x + 2

divide both sides by 2:

2y/2 = -x/2 + 2/2

y = -1/2 x + 1

b) 4x - 5y = 10

rewriting in the form above:

-5y = -4x + 10

divide both sides by -5:

-5y/-5 = -4x/-5 + 10/-5

y = 4/5 x - 2

c) 2y - 5x = 20

2y = 5x + 20

divide both sides by 2:

2y/2 = 5x/2 + 20/2

y = 5/2 x + 10
