Given the equation :

4x+10y=20

To find x - intercept substitute with y = 0

So,

\begin{gathered} 4x+10\cdot0=20 \\ 4x=20 \\ \\ x=(20)/(4)=5 \end{gathered}

So, x - intercept is ( 5 , 0 )

Note : the error is replacing the values of each other

To find y - intercept , substitute with x = 0

So,

\begin{gathered} 4\cdot0+10y=20 \\ 10y=20 \\ \\ y=(20)/(10)=2 \end{gathered}

So, y -intercept is ( 0 , 2 )

So, the answer is :

x - intercept = ( 5 , 0 )

y - intercept = ( 0 , 2 )
