x^2 + 1 = 5x

Subtract 5x from each side

x^2 -5x + 1 = 0

a=1 b = -5 c= 1

Using the quadratic formula

There are two solutions

( 5- sqrt(21))

--------------------

2

and

( 5+ sqrt(21))

-------------------
