The formula for calculating the rate of change/slope (m) is given by,


m=(y_2-y_1)/(x_2-x_1)

Substituting the values of the points chosen from the table in the formula,


\begin{gathered} m=(y_2-y_1)/(x_2-x_1) \\ m=(13-10)/(2-1) \\ m=(3)/(1) \\ m=3 \end{gathered}

Therefore, the rate of change is 3.
