Gene editing could increase human lifespan by knocking down gene variants underlying chronic/critical diseases. For example, several oncogenes could be targeted and modified with gene editing techniques. Besides, genetic diseases like sickle cell anemia, which is caused by a single mutation in a gene, could be corrected and potentially reversed.
