For this problem we have these two equations given:

$L=\text{ 6x}-2$
$W=\text{ 2x}-3$

With L represent the length and W the width. We also know from the figure attached this condition:

$L=x+D+x=\text{ 2x+D}$

Where D represent the length of the door. We can use this formula for the length:

$6x-2=\text{ 2x+D}$

And solving for D we got:

$D=\text{ 6x}-2x-2=\text{ 4x}-2$
