(3)/(8)x-6=(1)/(2)(4-x)
\begin{gathered} (3x)/(8)-6=2-(x)/(2) \\ (3x)/(8)+(x)/(2)=2+6 \\ (6x+8x)/(16)=8 \\ (14x)/(16)=8 \\ (7x)/(8)=8 \\ 7x=64 \\ x=(64)/(7) \end{gathered}

This equation only has one solution. One would say this because x has exponent 1, and the comprobation is above.
