We have the following:

The greatest common divisor of two numbers can be found by determining the prime factorization of the two numbers and taking the common factors raised to the lowest power, the product of which will be the GCF.

Therefore:

\begin{gathered} 500-1000-12500|2 \\ 250-500-6250|2 \\ 125-250-3125|5 \\ 25-50-625|5 \\ 5-10-125|5 \\ 1-2-25| \\ \text{GDF}=2\cdot2\cdot5\cdot5\cdot5=500 \end{gathered}

The greatest common factor of 500, 1000; and 12500 is 500
