Ok, we have:


y=a|x|\text{ (1)}
y=|ax|(2)

Since the absolute value will always return a possitive value no matter what sign the number has inside it, we will have that the graphs of both functions won't be equal.

The first function will have parts in the negative quadrants, but the second function will always be located in the possitive quadrants.
