Some of the organisms genetically modified using the CRISPR technology are not considered transgenic because of the CRISPR genes do not bacome part of the genome of the organism (commonly plants), the CRISPR are only used as a gene editing tool being a vehicle for information. The trangenic organism have to contain the foreign DNA, but in some cases with CRISPR the DNA is edited and not introduced to foreign DNA (transgene).
