What is the volume of a cylinder with a height of 8.9 in and a base with a diameter of14.8 in, to the nearest tenth of a cubic inch?

Volume of the cylinder is given by the formula


V=\pi r^2h

Here r = 14.8/2=7.4 and height , h= 8.9

Hence the volume is given by


\begin{gathered} V=\pi*7.4*7.4*8.9 \\ =1530.322 \end{gathered}

Hence the volume is 1530 cu.in to the nearest tenth.
