The slope m of a line that passes though the points (a,b) and (c,d) is given by:

m=(\Delta y)/(\Delta x)=(d-b)/(c-a)

For the points (2.5,3) and (8, 3.5):

m=(3.5-3)/(8-2.5)=(0.5)/(5.5)=(5)/(55)=(1)/(11)

Therefore, the slope is equal to 1/11.
