Discuss why seed dispersal is important

Seed dispersal is important because it allows a successful reproduction for plants, specially when the male and female flowers are in different plants, in other words, dioecious plants. In this example, the pollen is transported by different mechanisms to the female flower to fertilize it. Moreover, seed dispersal helps the offspring to grow at a certain distance from the parental plant, in order to avoid crowding and competition for nutrients between members of the same species.
