There are 38 people, each pie has 8 slices. If we want that everyone gets a slice.

Divide 38 by 8.

(38)/(8)=4.75

4.75 rounded to a whole number: 4.75 = 5.

So, the hosting need to buy 5 pies to make sure that everyone gets a slice which is a positive number.
