Finding slope and y-intercept

for this equation.

-5x - y = 14

we know that

the equation of the line in slope intercept form is equal to

y=mx+b

where

m is the slope

b is the y-intercept

In this problem we have

-5x-y=14

Isolate the variable y

y=-5x-14

therefore

slope is -5

y-intercept is -14
