subtract 6 from both sides:


\begin{gathered} -4x+6-6<10-6 \\ -4x<4 \end{gathered}

divide both sides by -4:


\begin{gathered} (-4x)/(-4)<(4)/(-4) \\ x>-1 \end{gathered}
