When associated with other chemical elements, forming sulfates, sulfites or sulfides, sulfur can be obtained from oil, natural gas and coal. However, the element sulfur is most commonly found in minerals such as: Pyrite (iron disulfide), Cinnabar (mercury sulfide), Sphalerite (zinc sulfide) and Galena (lead sulfide).
