For the transformation that maps ABCD to EHGF

Note that the coordinates of ABCD are A(-5, 2) B(-3, 4) C(-2, 4 ) D(-1, 2)

For reflection across the y-axis, the coordinate (x, y) becomes (-x, y), the reflected image ABCD should have coordinates (5, 2) (3, 4) (2, 4) (1, 2)

but the coordinates of the translated image EHGF are E(4, 1) H(2, 3) G(1, 3)

F(0, 1)

Therefore,

1. There is a reflection over the y-axis because the reflected and translated image EHGF is across ABCD.

2. Find the difference between the reflected image and the translated image

we obtain (x + [-1], y + [y+ [-1])
