length(l) = width(w) + 2

$\text{Area}=24$
l* w=24

$w=4\text{ or -6}$

Negative not possible.

$\text{width(w)}=4\text{ inches}$
$\text{length(l)}=w+2$
$\text{length of the rectangle=4+2}$
$\text{length of the rectangle=}6\operatorname{cm}$
