In the core of cells, we can find the nucleus, which controls many of the cell functions and contains our DNA, that is found in chromosomes, thread-like structures made up of packaged DNA. The DNA, in turns, carries genes, sequences of nucleotides responsible for a product, which can be either an RNA molecule or a protein.
