SOLUTION

From the question, the Perimeter of the rectangle is 19.4 cm and we want to find the width. The perimeter of a rectangle is given by

\begin{gathered} P=2\left(l+w\right) \\ where\text{ P =perimeter = 19.4} \\ l=length\text{ of rectangle = 6 cm} \\ w=width=? \end{gathered}

Applying this, we have

\begin{gathered} P=2\left(l+w\right) \\ 19.4=2\left(6+w\right) \\ 19.4=12+2w \\ 2w=19.4-12 \\ 2w=7.4 \\ w=(7.4)/(2) \\ w=3.7 \end{gathered}

Hence the width is 3.7 cm, option C
